Matthew Mezzacappa

Matthew Mezzacappa wrote book and lyrics for the musical Jennifer the Unspecial, about four 8th graders time-traveling, with composer Cynthia Chi-Wing Wong.  Jennifer the Unspecial is published by YouthPLAYS and received three full productions within three years, in New York, Philadelphia, and Ohio. It is currently rehearsing for its fourth full production at a middle school in North Carolina.  He also wrote the play Singing in the Shower, which was produced at the Old Academy Players in Philadelphia.  As a composer, he has written several pieces with New York-based Composers Collective including the orchestral piece, Don Quixote, a choral version of Tagore's poem Brink of Eternity, and a song, "The Greatest Gift" which was performed at Apple Store.   He is originally from Philadelphia and now lives in Bushwick.  You can find more at mattmezzacappa.com and jennifertheunspecial.com
